Social - 25 October

Hi everyone,
Sorry for slight delay in this correspondance coming out about the Worcester social......only just got the school to get me a new laptop!!!

The next big social as I'm sure you've all heard is next Sunday 25th October!!! Both teams are at home and IT'S HALF TERM!!!!! Great news for teachers who don't have to go to work the next day!!! If you don't teach, it may be worth booking the next day off work......?

THERE IS A THEME THIS TIME - NO WHINGING PLEASE. If you dont make an effort with the theme, it wont just be drinking fines you will have to face.....

The theme is:

SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH 'W' (anything but WonderWoman - that's me lol)

Please use your imagination....I have spoken to about 8 people who are making a massive effort!!! It should be hilarious!!!

We will be starting at the Saracen's Head (skittle place) at 6:30. You will need to get straight into your theme after the match so come prepared!!!

We'll have some interactive drinking games and some pizzas at the Saracen's Head before going into town to throw some serious shapes and drink the bars dry....

Any questions, just ask me or Ken at training.

Thanks,

Jilly x x

Ladies section AGM

Will be held at the club on 10 June. It's your section so come along and have your say.

Looking to elect the following officers:
Chair
Treasurer
Secretary
Fixtures and rugby secretary

We also need someone to do the matchday stuff that Kean does as he is no longer able to. There are incumbents for some but you can nominate others.

FWOE 7s

Meeting at cWRFC at 9.45 or at Five Ways at 10.15. Bring some cash along with you, but should be cheap enough to enter.

Address is:
Five Ways O.E.
Masshouse
Ash Lane
Birmingham
West Midlands
B48 7BD

Go to Hopwood services junction on M42. Head towards Birmingham and go right at first roundabout. After 200 yards and opposite Hopwood pub is a petrol station on the right. Immediately BEFORE the garage is a little lane. Take this and follow it round. There are two clubs next to each other. FWOE is on the right.

Details are:

Registration will be between 11:00 and 11:30 (first matches start at 12:00 pm). It is vital to the running
of the day that all teams have arrived by 11:33. On arrival you will be required to register and submit
a Squad Sheet (attached) and retain your copy. You must also nominate a Team Manager for the day.

Fees for the tournament will be £25 with a £20 deposit which will be returned on attendance. Both
sums must be as two separate cheques (made out to FWOE) with the initial entry form to 141
Tiverton Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham, B29 6BS. Entries must be received by the 5th May 2008, late
entries may be considered dependant on numbers.

The Tournament will be group based. The precise structure will not be finalised until the day of the
tournament when we know exactly how many teams are present. We expect all teams will play three to
four games dependant on the number of teams entered.

DK 10s

Sunday arrived and we were a little short on numbers. Some frantic phone calls and we managed to find eight players! We just needed to borrow some was all. Big thanks initially to Smithy of Five Ways who played with us all afternoon.

First match was against Stourbridge. With the first received ball Tolley took a run up the wing, offloaded to Olivia who passed to Bonnie who scored. A good start. An unfortunate clash of heads between Ems and Hair resulted in a swollen black eye for Emma and that was the end of her day. We played the remainder of the match with 9 players and won 14-5.

Second pool match was against Dudley Kingswinford. Borrowed 3 players from Chaddesley and FWOE. We had a struggle and it was a tough match. We lost Kelly (captain on the day) with a blow to the head and finished the match again with 9 players. Score - 12 all.

This was enough to put us into the semi finals against Five Ways Old Edwardians. (They wouldn't lend us any more players...) We borrowed four from Chaddesley Corbett and DKs but everyone was knackered. We lost by two scores to one with a final result of 5-10.

The cup was between Eccleshall and FWOE with Eccleshall as winners. The Plate was between Coalville/Chaddesley and Dudley Kingswinford I believe (I will check).

Team: Kelly, Vicky, Tolley, Bean, Hair, Bonnie, Emma, Olivia. Borrowed players included Smithy and Fred (FWOE), Steph and others (Chaddesley), Gemma, Selby and Vicky (DK) and others I will have forgotten. Thanks to all.

Tuesday 14 April 2009

DK 10s

The arrival time at Dudley Kingswinford is 12 midday. We will be meeting at Sixways at 11.30 if anyone is unsure of where to go.

We are a little short of numbers so we need anyone who is available to contact me on 07795 244165 or Pete on 07967 630850 (or both).

Final match of the season was against Stourbridge. A spirited performance by the visitors was not enough and Worcester (captained in Jilly's absence by Kelly) ran out 39-10 winners.

Worcester have topped Midlands South 2. Played 10, won 10.

Whilst everyone put in a fantastic performance, mention must go to our ust players of the match - Bonnie and Emma.

Team: Bonnie, Judo, Kayleigh, Corina, Laura, Beth, Steph, Hair, Webby, Rage, Olivia, Aly, Emma, Lynne, Kelly (c), Vicky, Lizie

Sunday's match cancelled

You will probably have heard by now but Old Patesians are not able to fulfill the fixture. So we will get together for a training session at 1:00pm. Team photo will be taken so look your best as always please.

We will then have some food, drinks and watch the 1sts play against Blaydon. Then we will probably have some more drink.

Remember that the clocks change on Saturday night so factor that into planning.
